Welcome to Apt. 277!

Welcome to Tyler & I's home (insert heart emoji), Apartment 277!

Hang your keys & stay awhile... ENJOY !

Tyler and I have been together for over three years now and have lived together for almost 2. Tyler & I thought long and hard before making this decision.. after only dating for one year to moving in! WOW was our thoughts too, but after some confusion and life events both of our living situations were changing and we were both left with a literal day to find out what the heck we were gunna do. The thought had crossed our minds before, & we felt we spent most of our time together anyways so it wouldn't be such a big change. SO on that final day we had to make a choice, we decided we'd move in together. It's been gumdrops and roses ever since... NOT ! Living with your significant other is challenging ya'll. You learn things you thought you already knew... and more importantly you learn things about yourself, you never knew existed like NO PATIENCE. haha. Kidding, kind of. Choosing to live with Tyler Blease has ended up being one of the best decisions I've ever made, I love the challenges that we chose to go through together and I quite literally fall more and more in love with him everyday even when he does get on my nerves for leaving his socks on the floor, having attitude or playing his video games to long... but again the entire process has been a learning experience for both of us and don't think either of us has ever regretted it. Having his constant support by my side is something I never knew I would find so young.

Kitchen:

Because Tyler & I were put on such short notice with our moving situations we decided to live in very small apartment that we did our very best at liking, living in and decorating... we lived there for about a year and by the end were more than ready to move!

The amount of times we hosted company I can literally count on one hand.. we strayed from our friendships because we bagan to focus more on our jobs and saving money for a new home. Our relationship had grown and we were happy together, we just weren't very pleased with where we were living. Just last night we were sitting on our couch talking about how far we've both come individually and as a couple.

In July of last year (2018) we found a new apartment that we fell in love with, the location, the square feet, the amentites.. everything. A week later we signed the lease and started packing. Since the day we toured the complex we've loved living here every single moment. We've hosted countless get togethers, had family over a numerous amount of times, and have room to cook dinner together every night that we can. Even our kiddos, (Kai, Punzy, & Kitty) have their very own room, and doggie areas outside to run around in. Needless to say everyone is happy and content with our new home.

Before moving in Tyler and I decided to sell ALL of our things and get new furniture & decorations together. Most of the furniture and decor items we had, we either had from high school, our parents, or found at a cheap price at a garage sale etc. When we moved into this complex we wanted it to be a new beginning for both of us. Throughout the year we've continued to fill our new home with new decorations, replacing old furniture items.. AND REAL QUICK I will say that in July when were fully moving in Tyler gave me full permission to do what I please decoration wise, and man does he know how to make a girl happy. haha. Now of course there were rules of.. nothing was to be zebra and hot pink;). Our deal was I would go shopping, take a bunch of pictures of all my good finds and would show him to see what he liked the most. Sometimes I listened and sometimes he didn't make the right choice, haha. Though we really buckled down and got most of the apartment decorated, we have still been making changes. In January after I returned from Sri Lanka we bought a new couch and area rug (from Costco) for the living room and added some new goodies to our decorations!

Welcome to our Living Room & meet our Pups along the way.

This week we decided to renew our lease, and so I will share some items I'm still wanting to add to the apartment. So far it looks super homey and carries such a bright happy vibe. The bedroom, though not complete is my favorite but a close score to the living room since we got the new couch. BUT the one thing I DO NOT like is that the arm of our couch is facing the TV instead of the wall... but with our floor plan it's the best fit. Our kitchen table, kitchen rug and bar stools are from Ikea as well as all of our curtains and curtain rods. The area rugs in the living and dining rooms are both from Costco. For our table placemats they're from Bed Bath & Beyond.

Bathroom:

What we're still working on:

In the living room you can see that Kai's big dog bed (dog beds from Costco) is up against the naked wall, I plan to put a table of some sort there to put our movies and electronics in and add self decorations on top. Over the table I want to hang a black circle mirror with a rope detailing to hang it with.

(I found at Kirklands & am waiting till next week to buy, EEK!).

All of our wall decorations are from Kirklands, Bed Bath & Beyond, Pier One & Home Goods. The black storage containers are from Walmart as well as the wicker basket that we use for our toilet paper storage about the toilet. Our shower curtain, towels, and floor matts in the bathroom are all from Bed Bath & Beyond.

A Closer Look & Desk Area:

The blank wall by our front door use to have a gold mirror hanging and I am still looking for a replacment. As for our bedroom the wall above our TV's and dresser I've gone "window shopping" and have seen many good ideas of what I want to hang but nothing that T or I have been 100% about. We're deff thinking either a color mural or a painting of Houston. We've also planned on buying a huge painting/picture of the world and placing it above our couch and to mark everywhere we've traveled too. AND the flowers in the bathroom.. COMPLETELY Tyler Blease's idea, haha. You may like them, but I am not a fan. The placement drives me crazy, YUCK?!? It looks like we're missing one, but he refuses to take them down or move them into a triangle shape.. he says it's his contribution lol and that it looks like art with only 3. Whatever.. it'll be find for now. He found them in some ones get rid of pile in our apartment while I was in Sri Lanka and just thought I'd love them. SO far I've left them because... well it's kinda cute that he likes them. I do however want and plan to put a cactus picture there or really anything else..

Entertainment:

Within the last month we have added plants, and place mats to our sitting areas and all of our porch decor/plants. We are also still working on framing pictures so that one day we can have our pictures placed around the apartment. 277 just gets more and more homey with every addition and I'm excited to see the complete and finished product after purchasing all the the finishing touches. All of the flowers in the living area are from Home Goods. The plants in the bedroom are from Costco & are real. The porch tree is from Goodwill and is fake. The plants on the porch table are the beggining of our tiny little garden therefore are real. All of our bedroom furniture is from Ikea, bed frame, side tables, and dresser. Our desk is actually from my mother and I have no clue where it's from.

PORCH:

Thanks for reading my post and I hope ya keep up with T & I.

Apartment 277 is on it's way to be the coziest apartment in Houston. I'll def keep ya'll updated on all new purchases & where we get our goodies!

Bed Room: ps. our desk area is in our bed room.
