Is pageant coaching even necessary?
100% YES! I truly believe that pageant coaching can help in MANY more ways than you think. Pageant coaching can help you (the competitor) create, understand and work towards a specific goal.
Pageant goals can vary from: simply having fun, learning how a proper interview process goes, gaining confidence, winning one small prize, winning it all.. or even working towards becoming the next Miss U.S.A.
Pageantry gets a lot, A LOT of back lash and has been misconstrued by the public and mostly by, Toddlers and Tiaras the MTV television show. Unfortunately there are pageants out there that mimic that trend. However, there are PLENTY more pageants out there that focus on community service, involvement within your communities, & your overall personality, and people skills. The first system which comes to mind is my favorite.. it's been a favorite of mine ever since I was a little girl, the Miss U.S.A system. They really look at who you are as a person and genuinely want to get to know who you are during the competition process and if you'd be a good fit to represt the title for the upcoming year during parades, professional events, etc.
I began my pageant journey competing in my local County Fair & Rodeo Queens Contest. I first began the Queens contest because I heard there was a scholarship prize for court members. I competed in this pageant for I think 4 years and made the court my final year. By my last competition with the Fair & Rodeo I learned I wanted the opportunity of making court for the experience of being a titleholder, creating new friendships, and lastly the scholarship prize. I began to learn more about the pageant industry during the year I was on court, attending weekly parades and different local events I caught what's called in the pageant world... The Pageant Bug. I caught this later than most girls and began my journey with pageants a little later but... better late than never because man am I grateful for the all the opportunity the journey has given me.
Throughout my pageant career I never received any coaching until I prepared for Miss Houston, the Miss U.S.A system. YES, I know I finally competed in the pageant of my childhood dreams the Miss organization. AND it was an incredible experience. I finished off my pageant career this past June when I was crowned your Young Miss International Miss 2019. I plan to live it up this year and represent myself, my title, my platform and most importantly the YMI organization to the best of my ability.
Today I am writing this blog to share with you that I truly believe I would've gained way more out of pageantry had I had a coach earlier on. I learned many lessons on my own throughout pageants but I don't think I learned the full importance of competition and all the do's and don'ts until I started judging pageants a few years back. I almost learned more judging than I did competing. I watched and judged some of the same girls every weekend, some thrived with each competition and others stayed stagnant and left feeling defeated.
Now that I have seen and witnessed both sides of the pageant world from HUGE known pageants to small local ones I have decided to take my one on one coaching to the next level. I started coaching because I wanted to help females with like minded goals succeed. I offer such a wide variety of help because I know that's what I always wanted. I never could afford a coach or much less get in contact with one. I have continued coaching with affordable prices to ensure I can help women of all backgrounds reach their goals. When I started my blog it was very small and primarily to share that I was a coach, & judge etc...
Now I'm excited to announce that my coaching has grown so much that I am facetiming and working with females across the state of Texas so much so that I have created a full booking site where all my girlies can book their sessions with me via MY blog under the 'contact' tab>drop down>Pageant Coaching.
The growth has taken a few years but I am so so grateful for it. I only hope to continue helping females of all ages reach their goals and learn the importance pageantry can have on ones life. Through pageants I gained confidence, people skills, interview skills that I carry with me in every interview or meeting I step into, and so so much more. It's more than just a crown a sash, It's learning how to be a repectable woman who's determined to make a difference in the world. Most importantly pageantry has taught me that the past is the past and no one can use it to determine who you are. Each day offers a new oppotunity to be the best you, you can be.
I have created a simple breakdown of all my pageant coaching sessions. Please keep in mind that the wide variety of pricing is strictly to help others who may or may not be able to receive as much help as they'd like. I offer sessions this way to ensure I am able to reach a wide variety of girls and give as much help as possible. All books should be made under the contact tab, on the Pageant Coaching drop down. Please list as much information as possible and once your appointment is fully booked you will receive a confirmation email as well as a personal email from myself confirming pricing, time, locations, etc.
>>ALSO important side note.. I can travel, facetime, conduct a session in my personal studio, OR meet where ever you'd like to practice as long as it is mentioned to me ahead of time. I do not want to find out that I have to drive an hour away for a session needing to take place in 30 minutes so please keep location in mind.
Pricing is as follows:
- Hair & Make-up: 50$ EACH per day if one or more days are booked (ex. weekend event)
