Great things are possible if you just believe. Believe in your possibilities, your mindset, YOURSELF!
Loving yourself is not something that comes easy. Especially for females.. and I've never been one that's felt good showing off my body, weather it be by changing in a locker room, or wearing a bathing suit at the beach. Though I am enjoying a beach day or pool time, the entire time I constantly pick my brain about my weight, my arms, my stomach, you get the point.. Ever since I was in high school, I loved dressing up to feel more confident, yet still have that voice inside my head, "don't turn like that, don't raise your arms to high, "you'll look fat if you do that." Now I look back on my pictures from high school, 2 years ago, 1 year ago and think, "what the heck was I thinking?" If I had that body now, I wouldn't complain! But the truth is, I would.. and my looks haven't changed that drastically since. We are never fully comfortable in own skin and we won't be if we keep thinking like this.
My entire life I've always had a HUGE love for fitness & keeping active in some way, and still I 'feel' like I look fat, when I have really never been fat. I ran cross country in college, at ETBU for two years basically had abs and still had something to complain about.
My point is that being, or growing to be comfortable in your own skin is so important and more of us need to grown into that mindset. Now that I am a personal trainer and have gained the knowledge to know what's good & bad for my body, what workouts work best for me, & how to properly eat I still struggle every day to be confident with my personal appearance. Since I have started my health & fitness journey I will say I have 100% grown to be WAY WAY more comfortable in my own skin. I am not yet where I want to be physically... and from that comes my determination to keep going.
BUT, Through this process I have learned that the journey is not ONLY working on my appearance, but my confidence, my mindset, my health, my OVERALL well-being. My goal for you is push yourself out of your comfort zone, change your mindset, smile when your mad, be who you want to be.. because only YOU can make the change. Be your future you, TODAY!
Wear your bikini, take your long sleeve shirt off when you're dying of heat during your workout. Know that where you are today is better than where you were yesterday and one step closer to who you want to be tomorrow! Be your change, take the step. No one is you, and that is your power.
